New digital trade platforms like Rakuten Ichiba and Google AdWords enable startups and small businesses to reach global audiences in ways never seen before. Up to this point, companies have largely been able to create, market and launch digital trade platforms and services without too many restrictions, but governments are increasingly beginning to think about how to regulate digital trade and e-commerce in the future.
